Kootenay Christian Fellowship will try to raise $1 million over the next two months to buy the old Savoy Hotel, which they plan to use for low-income housing as well as retail and church purposes.
Pastor Jim Reimer says he’s hoping the cause will “go viral” and generate interest well beyond city limits.
