The Nelson Police Board wants to hear from the public about what law enforcement should prioritize over the next five years.
The board is asking residents to fill out a survey that will inform the Nelson Police Department’s next five-year strategic plan. The current plan is set to expire in December.
The survey is anonymous and takes about 10 minutes to complete. The board says responses will be stored on a secure site, analyzed by a third party, shared with the board and department then deleted.
It asks for details on residence, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity, before asking for more thorough recommendations about what the police can improve on.
The survey, which closes Oct. 1, can be accessed online at www.nelson.ca/npd_strategicplan.
