Although he’s on the federal reelection trail, BC Southern Interior New Democrat MP Alex Atamanenko has paused to endorse Mike Farnworth for the provincial NDP leadership.
"As the federal agriculture critic, I was surprised and pleased to see that Mike has committed to bringing our provincial agriculture budget to match the national average,” Atamenenko said in a statement from his campaign office.
“This is a huge step to revitalize our farming community after years of neglect under both the BC provincial government and the federal government.”
Farnworth also counts the support of Kootenay West MLA Katrine Conroy and former Nelson-Creston MLA Corky Evans. Present Nelson-Creston MLA Michelle Mungall is backing Adrian Dix.
The NDP chooses its new leader on Sunday.
