Balfour’s water is once again safe to drink.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay announced Friday that the community’s boil water notice had been rescinded. The original notice posted June 15 was done as a precaution because of work done to a watermain tie-in and quality concerns.

Further service interruptions by the watermain work in the lower Balfour area of Highway 3A, Balfour Wharf Road, Balfour Ferry Road and the Busk Road area are still planned. The RDCK statement said affected residents and businesses will be notified ahead of time.
