A young cyclist was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Hendryx and Mill streets on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Nelson Police Department report, the 14-year-old cyclist went through a stop sign and was struck at 3:45 p.m. on September 5. The cyclist was not wearing a helmet.
Fortunately, the teenager wasn't injured.
"The cycling public is reminded that helmets are mandatory in British Columbia," acting sergeant David Laing wrote in a media release about the incident.
