Four candidates will vie for the empty Nelson City Council seat in a byelection next month.

The city announced Nicole Charlwood, Daniel Nolan, Brenton Raby and Joshua Wapp had submitted nomination forms prior to Friday’s deadline.

They will campaign to replace Brittny Anderson, who is now the Nelson-Creston MLA after winning her first provincial election in November.

The city said general voting will occur March 27 at the Prestige Lakeside Resort. Advance voting meanwhile will be available March 17 and 24 at Nelson City Hall.

The Nelson Star will have more coverage of individual candidates in the coming weeks.
