An RCMP dive team has found the body of a 51-year-old Winlaw man who drowned in the Kootenay River at Shoreacres.
Cpl. Derek Pitt said the man was witnessed entering the water around 4 p.m. on Sunday, providing a starting place for the search.
While it took until Monday for divers to assemble from various parts of B.C. and a bit of time to set up their equipment, Pitt said once they were in the water the man’s body was quickly located and recovered.
Castlegar Search and Rescue assisted.
