E. Coli found at Lakeside Park

The city is asking residents to avoid swimming in the area for the time being.

The city is advising residents to stay out of the water near Lakeside Park after higher than normal E. Coli levels were found.

Don't go for a dip at Lakeside Park.

The City of Nelson issued a water quality advisory Tuesday that asks residents avoid swimming in that area of Kootenay Lake due to increased E. Coli levels.

Geese feces is the water is suspected to be the cause of the higher than normal E. Coli levels.

The advisory says the city will re-sample the water on Friday.
