The City of Nelson has issued a swimming advisory for Lakeside Park.

The city says there is an elevated level of E. coli bacteria at the water’s edge and that swimmers should avoid water in their mouths and eyes. The beach however remains open.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Kootenay Lake, with high temperatures expected through the weekend.

The spray park at Lions Park is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
