BC Southern Interior hopefuls will have another chance to speak to a Nelson audience Friday evening during a forum on social issues.

“Skyrocketing rents, frozen welfare allowances, long waits for the hospitals, lack of jobs, increased homelessness, child poverty, [and an] 80 per cent increase in the use of food banks all point to a social crisis,” organizers say.

New Democrat Alex Atamanenko, Conservative Stephen Hill, and Liberal Shan Lavell are expected to attend.

This event is sponsored by the Social Planning Action Network, and will be moderated by Rona Park. It begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Anglican hall at Ward and Carbonate.
