Nelson Fire and Rescue services responded to fire at the Rosemont Mobile Home Park at about 7:00 p.m. on April 17, according to a news release from the fire department.
“Upon arrival of the first crew, they observed a single trailer with flames coming from the windows and a large plume of dark smoke,” the news release states.
“The first arriving crew’s primary objective was to secure a water supply and commence a fire attack to prevent the fire from spreading to the neighboring trailers. Crews were also concerned with the large coniferous trees behind the trailer and the hydro pole located near the burning trailer.”
Nelson Hydro staff were called to disconnect the power to the trailer. No major injuries were reported, and damage is estimated at $200,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
