Fire destroyed a travel trailer on the 1400 block of Highway 6 near Crescent Valley in the late afternoon of July 15.

“Upon arrival of the first engine, the crew observed a travel trailer that was fully involved in fire, which was spreading to the adjacent building,” a new release from Nelson Fire and Rescue states.

“The first arriving crew’s primary objective was to knock the fire down and prevent it from spreading to the adjacent building and forested area.”

The travel trailer was completely destroyed and the adjacent building suffered some fire, smoke, and water damage.

No one was injured in the fire and damage is estimated at $80,000.

The fire was also attended by the North Shore, Beasley, and Blewett fire departments.

“Nelson Fire and Rescue Services would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to ensure you have an evacuation plan for your family and remember to test your smoke alarm monthly,” the news release said.
