Five new COVID-19 cases announced in Nelson area

The Nelson Local Health Area saw five new cases of COVID-19 between Dec. 6 to 12, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control.

The health area includes Nelson and Salmo. There were no new cases in the Castlegar, Trail, Arrow Lakes and Grand Forks areas.

The Nelson area had 44 cases of COVID-19 from January to November, according to the BCCDC.

Interior Health, which includes Nelson, has had eight deaths and 3,124 total cases through Dec. 18, of which 782 are considered active.
