FlightFest on Saturday brought out huge crowds to Nelson's Norman Stibbs airstrip.

Flightfest took off on Saturday as aviation fans of all ages descended on the Nelson Airport.

The morning started off with a pancake breakfast and visitors were able to see a variety of aircrafts from World War II era planes and a Cold War Jet to Piper Cammanche’s and float planes.

People were also able to take part in the fun by going up on a sightseeing tour in a plane or a helicopter.

There were acrobatic demonstrations visible through out the city by Bill Carter, John Mrazek and Paul Hajduk.

Even though the airport was the hub of activity for Flightfest, the sites and sounds were visible through out the city.
