The Nelson Knights of Columbus announced Friday morning that Bruce Halstead has been chosen as Nelson's Citizen of the Year.
Halstead has been in the Nelson community for many years and volunteered for many organizations.
Halstead is the 48th candidate since the first presentation in 1964.
A formal presentation of this award will be made on April 21 at the Catholic Community Centre. Tickets are on sale at Sonja’s China Cabinet.
