An intersection on the edge of the city continues to be the most likely place for a vehicle accident in Nelson.
There were 11 crashes at the Highway 3A where the road is split between turn offs to Granite Road and Government Road on the west side of the city in 2020, according to new data from ICBC.
The intersection has been the site of the most crashes since 2016, with 61 total between then and the end of 2020.
Following close behind last year was the four-way stop at Baker Street and Highway 3A at Railtown with 10 crashes, and eight at Baker and Kootenay Street.
Overall there were 169 crashes in Nelson last year.
Between 2016 and 2020, Baker and Kootenay has the second most crashes with 40, followed by Vernon and Ward with 38.
Baker and Ward, the city’s most populated intersection, has had 31 crashes since 2016 but only three last year.
