Interior Health has announced Chris Mazurkewich will become its new president and chief executive officer as of Oct. 26.

Interior Health has announced Chris Mazurkewich will become its new president and chief executive officer as of Oct. 26.

Mazurkewich rejoins the health authority after spending four years at Alberta Health Services, most recently as executive vice president and chief operating officer for the provincial agency.

Prior to that, Mazurkewich was chief operating officer, strategic and corporate services, for Interior Health from its inception in 2002 until 2009.

He will replace Dr. Robert Halpenny, who announced his resignation to pursue other opportunities this summer.
