Suzan Hewat has been re-elected to her third term as Kaslo’s mayor.
Hewat defeated challenger Henry Van Mill in Saturday’s B.C. General Local Elections.
She earned 412 votes, well ahead of Van Mill’s final tally of 130.
Hewat has been in Kaslo Village Hall since 2005 when she was first elected to council during a byelection. She served on council until 2014 when she was elected mayor, then re-elected in 2018.
Hewat’s four-person council will include Erika Bird (480 votes), incumbent Molly Leathwood (414), Matthew Brown (380) and incumbent Robert Lang (303).
Jonathan Carruthers (205) and Lynda Beddow (165) also ran.
