Queens Bay marked the centennial of St. Francis-in-the-Woods, a former Anglican church, with a tea Saturday.

From left, Wendy Baker, Mary Hunter, Bill Cowell, and Anne MacDonald had the honour of cutting the cake. Hunter and Cowell are grandchildren of Harry Scott Lauder, credited with designing the church, while Baker and MacDonald are granddaughters of Arthur Scott Lauder, Harry’s brother, who was also skilled at building and helped erect the church.

The church was deconsecrated in 1994 and has since been a community centre.
