New principals have been appointed to L.V. Rogers and South Nelson Elementary.
Dan Rude is taking over LVR as of Feb. 1, according to a statement released Dec. 14 by School District 8. Rude served as South Nelson’s principal for three years following five years as a principal in Kaslo and six in Crawford Bay.
At South Nelson he will be replaced by Jann Schmidt, who is leaving her role as district principal of international education where she has worked for three years.
Schmidt is a 27-year veteran of SD8 and former principal of Salmo Elementary-Secondary, Redfish and Rosemont.
Former LVR and Trafalgar Middle School principal Paul Luck will take on Schmidt’s role as head of international education.
