Don't swim at Lakeside Park at least until early next week.
Today's test of the water at the beach revealed an E.coli count of 845, still high above the acceptable level of 200, but down from the count of 1100 earlier in the week.
Nelson's public works director Colin Innes will be testing again this afternoon upstream and downstream from the beach — at the soccer fields and at the orange bridge — and those results will be available early next week.
He said his staff will also be checking the city's sewer system for leaks.
