Missing Nelson youth found

Zachary Knodel, 16, has been located in the Lower Mainland staying with a friend.

Nelson RCMP say a 16-year-old boy who ran away from home late Tuesday has been found.

Zachary Knodel was located late last night, RCMP Cpl. Michael Stefani said in a news release. He ended up going to a family member in the Lower Mainland, although police didn’t say how he got there.

They will be asking the Ministry of Children and Families to follow up on the case. They also thanked everyone who called with information.

Knodel was last seen at 12 Tribes in South Slocan, where he had been staying with a friend. He was going to travel to Winnipeg in May to reunite with his mother.
