A lone skier spent New Year’s Eve lost in the backcountry near Nelson.
Search and rescue teams from Nelson and Rossland were called to look for the man who went missing in an area near Whitewater Ski Resort on Monday afternoon, according to a release from Rossland and District Search and Rescue.
The man was found by helicopter and brought to safety without injury at approximately 9 a.m. Tuesday.
