The Nelson Municipal Library is changing its name. After getting the official go ahead from city council Monday, it’s now the Nelson Public Library.
The library board has been planning a name change since a referendum last fall. Residents from Area F and the southern portion of Area H voted to support the library through taxation, rather than pay membership fees.
The board says the new name provides a “more regionally inclusive perspective,” and brings the library’s name in line with most other facilities of its kind in B.C.
