Nelson cops bust couple for drugs

Nelson Police busted two people with MDMA and cocaine recently.

The Nelson Police busted two people for drug offences last Tuesday.

The 25-year-old male driver and his 20-year-old female passenger were stopped in the downtown core, then arrested when cops discovered a “significant” amount of cocaine and hundreds of MDMA tablets.

The driver is from Nelson and was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as possession of proceeds of crime. The passenger is from New Denver and faces the same charges.

The pair were released on a promise to appear and their first appearance in court is set for June 27, 2017.
