Tuesday afternoon’s downpour surprised the city’s public works staff in that it didn’t cause more trouble.
“There was a problem on Wasson Street in Rosemont,” says operations director Allen Fillion. “It sounds like a catchbasin was plugged and our afternoon shift went up and cleaned it out.”
A couple of alarms also sounded on a lift station due to high water, but levels quickly went back down without flooding.
“We got away lucky this time,” Fillion says.
