The West Kootenay EcoSociety’s Wednesday farmers market will return to Baker Street this summer.
Nelson city council agreed to allow the society to run the weekly market on the 400 block of Baker from June 15 to September 28. The market moved downtown last year after an unsuccessful run in the parking lot of the Nelson and District Community Complex.
According to a report prepared for council, the city received only four complaints about the downtown market last year, three of which were from businesses on the 300 block of Baker.
This year, the society is also working with the Nelson Trading Company to provide public washrooms on the site of the market.
