Interior Health says 1,776 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Nelson as of Monday.
That total includes vaccines given to residents and staff at long-term care facilities such as Nelson Jubilee Manor.
Kaslo meanwhile has had 215 vaccinations, while Salmo has received 140.
A vaccine clinic at Selkirk College’s Mary Hall in Nelson opened March 15. Interior Health said the clinic will be open seven days per week starting April 12 to accommodate larger age cohorts.
Kaslo and Salmo residents ages 18 and older meanwhile will be able to book vaccine appointments in April as part of a push to make the doses available in rural West Kootenay communities.
Interior Health administered its first vaccine on Dec. 22. Since then, over 101,000 doses have been delivered in the health authority, which includes the Okanagan and Kootenays, through March 26.
