We should get a better idea of when the Nelson aquatic centre will close for renovations following a meeting of the recreation commission Friday.
The eight-month closure was originally supposed to begin on May 1, but was delayed after the Regional District of Central Kootenay rejected both bids on the project because they were way over budget.
In July, the regional district hired Unitech Construction Management Ltd. to divide the renovation into sub-projects within an approved budget of $4.9 million.
At that point, the regional district said the pool would remain open into August, but there has been no official update since.
