A Nelson police officer suffered a broken nose and a concussion while dealing with a small group of men drinking in public Saturday night.
The suspect, a 31-year-old Chilliwack man, was arrested and is due in court today facing charges of assaulting a police officer causing bodily harm and two counts of resisting arrest.
In a news release, acting Sgt. Janet Scott-Pryke said the assault was unprovoked.
