Police had no trouble tracking down an intoxicated driver who was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident on his way to the liquor store.

Passersby saw the 30-year-old male driver hit another vehicle behind the Hume Hotel, then watched as he entered a nearby liquor store. He then returned to his vehicle and drove away. A Nelson Police Department officer stopped the driver and tested him for impairment.

He was issued a 90-day roadside prohibition, a typical penalty for someone whose breath sample reveals over 0.8 blood alcohol content. He was also ticketed for the accident and other observable violations.
