Mark your calendars — Nelson’s Regional Sports Council is planning a party.
On April 19, 2012, Nelson will act as an end of day community for participants in the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay, and the Sports Council is planning a community celebration.
The relay retraces the Canadian Segment of Hansen’s original Man in Motion Tour, which raised more than $200 million for spinal cord injury research.
Starting August 24, it will stretch through more than 600 communities and involve 7,000 participants from across the country.
