Search for missing woman ends in tragedy

The Trail RCMP have confirmed that missing person Neva Evdokimoff has been located deceased.

Trail RCMP is seeking public assistance in locating missing person 48 year old Neva Evdokimoff

TRAIL - Trail RCMP have issued a press release confirming that Neva Evdokimoff, who was last seen at Gyro Park in Trail on May 24, has been found deceased.

According to the release: "On June 9th, Neva Evdokimoff's body was located by the Steven's County Sheriff in Washington, US authorities recovered her body from the Columbia River. The Trail and District RCMP continues to assist the BC Coroners Services with their investigation into the death of Neva Evdokimoff. There is no indication of foul play being involved in her death. No further information is being released at this time."

Neva Evdokimoff grew up in Castlegar, but was living in Kelowna. She was visiting her family in Shore Acres and had left to drive home before detouring to Trail, where she was last seen on surveillance video at Gyro Park.

Search and rescue teams from Rossland, Castlegar, Arrow Lakes, Creston, Cranbrook, Kimberley, South Columbia and Nelson were involved in the search the week of her disappearance. The concentrated effort involved over 70 volunteers, ATVs, mountain bikes, water craft and air support.
