Kaslo is on strict water conservation measures following a mudslide on Kemp Creek.
“Our main dam has been severely compromised,” village administrator Rae Sawyer said in a notice to residents. “No water is flowing into our main reservoir.”
There's no estimate when water will be fully restored, although crews are actively responding to the emergency.
Water use is completely restricted to indoor household use, Sawyer said, and it's recommended everyone set aside a supply of drinking water.
