The Slocan man who died last week after his car went off the village wharf and into Slocan Lake has been identified as George Edward Anderson.

RCMP and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate the 76-year-old's death, which occurred last Wednesday morning.

While it appears he was able to escape his vehicle, he didn't make it out of the water.

Police say he was alone in the vehicle. They don't know, however, whether he drove in deliberately or accidentally.
