The City of Nelson says it is rescinding the water quality advisory that had been in place for a week.

Spring run-off conditions had led to what the city said were increased levels of turbidity or suspended matter in the drinking supply. Residents had been advised on May 3 that anyone with compromised immune systems should consider alternative water sources.

In an update May 10, the city said testing now shows turbidity has decreased and the water quality is normal once again.

The spring run-off however continues, and the city added it will make further announcements if there is another change to the water quality.
