Six youths ranging in age from 12 to 16 have been charged with stealing about $45,000 worth of jewelry, electronics, and cash from an Uphill home last month.
Police say the incident occurred overnight April 25-26.
The youths all live in Nelson. Three are 15, while the others are 12, 13, and 16.
They’ve been released to their parents on bail with conditions not to contact each other, abide by curfews, and stay away from drugs and alcohol.
They face charges of break and enter, theft over $5,000, and mischief over $5,000.
To date, about $30,000 worth of the stolen property has been recovered.
