The McClenaghan family grieves the loss of Alice, who passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, B.C., less than 2 weeks after suffering a stroke at home. She was 83.

Alice was born and raised in Creston/ Nelson, B.C., graduating from Nelson High in 1954. Alice relocated to Ontario where she had a career on Toronto's Bay Street as a receptionist and switchboard operator, before moving back to B.C. in 1970. Alice married in 1971, and settled in Port Moody and later Coquitlam to raise her family, which would be her life's focus.

Alice is survived by her husband of 47 years Lorne G. McClenaghan of Surrey, B.C.; son Lorne C. McClenaghan (George Neeb) of Brantford, Ontario; son Marty S. McClenaghan of Vancouver; three step-grandchildren, and her sisters Marthella and Joan in Ontario and brothers Duffy and Winston in B.C.

Alice loved nature and the outdoors and her favourite place for a local getaway was Manning Provincial Park, where she enjoyed cross-country skiing in winter, and camping and hiking in summer.

Pursuant to Alice's wishes there will be no funeral service. The family will be holding a private ash scattering ceremony next summer, at Manning Park.
