Our beloved Andrea Borch nee Edson, aged 49, passed away on December 11, 2021 after a courageous and fearless battle with cancer. Andrea, eternally a local girl, was born in Nelson, BC on November 30, 1972 to Jack and Sandy Edson.
Andrea is survived by her devoted and loving husband Mike, her kind and caring son Alexander, her loving parents Sandy and Jack, her dear brother Bruce Edson, and family friend Stuart Cook.
When Andrea became a mother to her son, she truly embraced this role and bestowed upon him an endless supply of dedicated love, and through her inspiring parenting, created the most beautiful human being. She was very proud of her son. Andrea was a gentle force, with the brightest smile, the kindest heart, and a generous soul. She had wit and humour that gifted us with many laughs. Her love of gardening created a peaceful space, where she found tranquility amongst her blooms and blossoms. Her creativity left us all in awe of her, and yet, true to her sweet genuine modesty, she preferred to stay out of the limelight. She was devoted and wise, loving and kind.
Andrea was that person that everyone wanted to know. Even though we are entrenched in the anguish of our loss, we are left with wonderful memories. Her love for music, reading, slo- pitch, fishing, kayaking, golfing and gardening will live on through all of us who knew and loved her. Every memory and moment we have of Andrea are cherished jewels that we will tuck away in our hearts forever.
Thank you to the doctors and staff at Kootenay Lake Hospital as well as Kelowna General Hospital for the support, empathy and care that Andrea received. Grief is the embodiment of the love we have for her, and even though she is no longer with us, we will continue to remember this incredible woman, whom we are so very grateful and blessed to call our daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend.
