Andrew Timothy ‘Cormiez’ McCormick

December 25, 2021
In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce that Andrew passed away unexpectedly due to a tragic snowmobile accident on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at the age of 40, in Bonnington, British Columbia.
Andrew is survived by his daughter Nevaeh and his son Elijah, mother Pam, father Rhod, sister Jessica, grandmother Doris McCormick and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends who loved him dearly. He is predeceased by grandparents Ian and Marjory Fraser and Ken McCormick.
Since Andrew’s death, many have written about how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him. They recall how he built connections and networked in and beyond the community. Many marvelled at his encyclopedic knowledge of music and remarkable talent for producing and mixing songs to create amazing compilations. His musical genius allowed him to travel the world and share his love of music.
They reminisced how his ever present smile and the warmth, depth and intelligence behind it. His sparkling blue eyes, his sense of humour and infectious laugh had a way with you.
Most of all, they recall the sheer pleasure of his company, how good he made them feel, how free they were to be themselves around him and how much they will miss him.
He was a gifted athlete and he excelled in baseball, skiing and snowboarding. His love of golf made him a regular participant at the Castlegar Golf Club during golf season. One of his favourite pastimes was watching his beloved Toronto Raptors hit the court with his son, Elijah.
His creativity shone through in the kitchen, when he would prepare delicious dinner party meals for his Bonnington family and friends with his soulmate, Alex.
Andrew had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others and such a bright future. The world is a lesser place without him.
His kindness and never ending love will continue to shine through his two beautiful children, Nevaeh and Elijah forever.
A private family memorial has been held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a memorial donation to Mental Health BC.
