Anna Marie passed away in Kootenay Lake District Hospital on December 26, 2010 after a long battle with diabetes. She is survived by her husband Ian, son Jim, daughter Kristine, 3 grandchildren Angela, Steven and Sarah, and 3 sisters Kim March, Else Nance, and Karen Muntak. She was predeceased by her mother Dagmar, father Tage, and 2 sisters Henny and Tove. Anna Marie was born on May 7, 1946 in Aarhus, Denmark and was the youngest of 6 children. She moved with her family to Canada in 1948 and grew up in Calgary. She married Ian McDonald and moved to Nelson in 1967. She established her home and family at Bealby Point on Kootenay Lake where she lived for 43 years with her husband. In Calgary she worked as an operator for Alberta Government Telephone and in Nelson she worked for Koe Harrison Accountants, McLeods Hardware and Elections Canada/BC. She loved playing Bingo and was a regular at the Eagles Hall for the past 26 years. She was a caring mother and wife, who loved nature, gardening, and the beauty of the Nelson area. A private family service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the Nelson Home Care nurses and the KLDH 3rd floor staff.
