Aubrey's many Nelson friends are sad to announce his death on February 20, 2019 in Palm Desert California.

Aubrey William Hebig was born in Penticton, BC to Louis and Alma Hebig. He grew up in Osoyoos, where he was an avid sportsman, excelling in track and field and basketball.

After earning his Bachelor of Education degree, Aubrey taught in several Nelson district elementary schools. He was responsible fro introducing pottery-making to the district art program and this became a life-long passion for him. Aubrey was a well-known and talented artist. He was featured in several juried art shows, and, over the years, his pottery pieces were displayed in several provincial art galleries. In later life, Aubrey continued to pursue his passion and to pass on his expertise through workshops.

Aubrey is survived by his wife of 15 years, Adrienne deFrank, his sister Marsella, son Gren(Arlene), step-sons Brian and Kevin (Tracy) and step-daughters Shella (Stewart), Mary (Dana) and Maureen (AJ), along with grandchildren Cole, Corrie, Sarah and Erin. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth, and sister, Joyce.

A celebration of life will be held in Palm Desert on Sunday, March 10. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.

Rest in Peace, dear Aubrey. You will be remembered.
