July 1, 1944 - October 5, 2023

In loving memory ~

Audrey Georgina Arcuri (nee Ekstrom) passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

Audrey was born July 1, 1944, in Geraldton, Ontario. Her family moved to Ymir, BC in 1949, where she grew up with her three brothers and three sisters. She met her husband, Ben Arcuri, in Nelson, and they were married on July 25, 1965. He would forever call her "The Princess". If you were lucky enough to know Audrey, you will know that she was a little spitfire... tiny, but mighty! She was fun and spirited and game for almost any adventure. She could always be seen around town with a huge smile on her face, and ready with a friendly conversation. She was active throughout her life, and could often be found at Whitewater skiing, at a golf course, or at the curling rink. She loved to have a good time, to dance, and to travel with Ben and their friends, and did so extensively.

In her later years, Audrey could be found in her beautiful garden or on her beach. She was the hub of her large, extended family, and hosted many a gathering at their home. Audrey enjoyed a beautiful life and was cherished by her family and her friends.

Audrey leaves behind her loving husband, Ben, their two sons, Grant Arcuri and Kevin Arcuri (Layla Precious), their four grandchildren: Blake, Carson, Sofia and Oliver, her two sisters: Diane (Robert) Blackwood and Susan (Dale) Hazel, her brother-in-law Joel Ackert, and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Ekstrom and Sandra Cox, as well as many nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn is her loving caregiver and friend, Dorothy Dalba, as well as her many treasured extended relatives and friends. Audrey was pre-deceased by her Dad, Folke Ekstrom, her Mom, Evelyn Ekstrom, her sister, June Ackert, her brothers, Lorne, Gerry and Donnie Ekstrom, and four nephews: Paddy and Darrell Ackert, Jacen Ekstrom and Marty Blackwood.

The family would like to acknowledge and give thanks to the Jubilee Manor for the love and compassion shown to Audrey while in their care. Anyone wishing to do so can donate to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (https://alzheimer.ca/en/take-action/make-your-donation-today).

A celebration of life will be held for Audrey on Canada Day, July 1, 2024, on what would have been her 80th Birthday.

"Miss me but let me go..."
