Barb passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2022 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Okanagan Landing and moved to Nelson at an early age where she attended school, married and spent her working career at BC Forest Service while raising her 3 boys. She enjoyed many pot luck dinners and parties with her co-workers and while working there she met and married Doug Chorlton in 1967 and moved to Victoria. In 1980 they moved to Summergate Village in Sidney where they quickly became active community members.
Predeceased by her husband Doug in 2000 and siblings Mary, Ellen, Alex and Bill. She is survived by her 3 sons, Earle (Barb), Neil (Bonnie), and Colin (Meredith) Robertson, three granddaughters, two grandsons, one step granddaughter and four great grandchildren.
She was loved and respected and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her generosity extended to many charities and organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society of BC in her honour for those who wish to do so.
