Barbara Ruth Johnson passed away peacefully on June 11, 2018 at the Emergency Ward of Kootenay Lake Hospital. Barbara was born and raised in Dawson Creek B.C. The daughter of Ralph and Ruth Juell who farmed land in the country at Doe River B.C.

Barbara was from a large family of 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Barbara married Robert Johnson and the couple had 56 years of happily married life, they have 2 sons Glen and wife Shelley and Grandson Ryan of Nelson B.C and Lloyd and wife Melissa and daughter Lauren of Cranbrook B.C. From a previous marriage, Lloyd has 2 sons Travis of Grand Forks and Jason of Cranbrook B.C.and a daughter Emma of Grand Forks.

Barb was predeceased by her Dad and Mom and Brother Leslie and Leonard and sister Kathleen and husband Henry Wendt.

Barbara will be missed by her loving husband, children, and grandchildren. And sisters Ethel and husband Dan Dyck, of Doe River B.C. Clara Wickland of Gunn Alberta. Iona and Garry Yorga of West Kelowna, Roy and Mildred Juell, of Dawson Creek, Clarence and Faith Juell, of Salmon Arm B.C. Art and Marlene Juell of Pritchard B.C. And all the friends across B.C.

Barbara enjoyed cooking, sewing and donating time playing bass guitar for seniors and music jams at Lakeside Park, and was overjoyed with the company of grandchildren and one great granddaughter Leona from Salt Spring Island. Barbara enjoyed her life in Nelson B.C since May 1973. 

There will be no funeral, as cremation was Barbara's choice, and is being arranged by Thompson's Funeral Home Nelson B.C. A celebration of life is being considered at a later date.

In lieu of flower or gifts donations in her name can be made to the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation  in remembrance of a great lady, Mother and Grandmother, forever in Gods hands.
