May 2, 1921 - November 28, 2020
Sadly we announce the passing of our Mom, Gran, Great Gran, Aunty, and cherished friend, peacefully, in her 100th year, surrounded by the love of her family on November 28, 2020 at RoseWood Village.
Born in Sheho Saskatchewan, May 2, 1921, Beryl moved with her parents, 2 sisters and brother to Kimberley BC a year later.
She met her sweetheart, Chips (Eric) in Kimberley and they married in 1941. Chips join the RCAF shortly after and served in England during the war years. Beryl kept the "Home Fires Burning": raising their first born, supporting her parents, and organizing care packages. Upon his return they chose Trail to build their life and raise their family.
Beryl was supportive, encouraging, kind and thoughtful, a source of stories, lyrics and fun. Beta Sigma Phi, UCW, bridge and Chip's interests such as Rotary, especially BBQ's on Old Betsy, brought her joy.
Eric became Assistant to the President West Kootenay Power Company, and when he retired in 1979 they moved to their Summer Cottage at Christina Lake. Beryl made "Coleman's Cozy Cottage" the hub of activity for friends and family. In winter months they enjoyed 5th Wheeling north and south to rendezvous with friends and family.
In the 1980's Chips accepted several volunteer consultant positions with Canadian Executive Services Overseas and Beryl enjoyed accompanying him on assignments to Costa Rica, Panama, Belize and Northern BC.
Beryl was predeceased by Chips, her husband of 68 years; son Murray (Penny); sisters Dorothy Cameron (Charles), Ina (Vern) Bruce, and brother Manfred. She is lovingly remembered by her family; daughters Donna (Denis) Robinson and Mary (Josh) Schritt; son Robert (Celeste); grandchildren Stephen (Amy) Robinson, Carolyn (Greg) Babakaiff, Michael (Kimberly) Robinson, Tess Coleman, and Rae Coleman; great grandchildren Braelyn, Reid, Caitlyn, and Erika Robinson; Kody and Paige Babakaiff; Hugh, Charlotte, William and Luke Robinson; nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the devoted staff at Rose Wood Village for their care, support, kindnesses, respect and conversations especially during this past difficult year.
A Memorial Service will be held later. Donations in memory of Beryl may be made to Charity of choice.
