Bonnie passed away February 21, 2021 at the age of 68, after a sudden and brief battle with cancer.
Bonnie was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario where she met Rick. They moved to Nelson in 1968 where they were married and spent 52 wonderful years together.
She held many positions in the service industry, most recently with the Royal Bank where she retired at 65. Affectionately known as Bon-bon by her coworkers, she always had a warm smile and greeting for her clients. She was genuinely interested and cared when she asked you how your day was.
Bonnie was content in life. She enjoyed the little things. Bonnie put the needs of family and friends above her own and was always willing to lend an ear, a helping hand, offer advice, or give a warm hug when there were just no words. She told it like it was and her opinion was always respected. Feisty and passionate, once she put her mind to something, there was no stopping her.
She was one who rarely sat still, was always on the go yet at the end of the day found time to relax on the deck with Rick and her beverage of choice.
Bonnie will be forever in the hearts of her husband Rick, children Vicky, Cherie and Shaun (Breanne), grandchildren Tianna (great grandchild Lorenzo), Keinen, Allynna, Kaiden, and Rylen.
If you knew Bonnie, you'll remember her sense of humour, her compassion, sincerity, laugh and the love she brought to so many.
Bonnie, my soul mate, I am so glad that you were a part of my life. It was a privilege to know you, to share myself with you and to walk together on the paths that took us in so many beautiful directions. I know that I was in the presence of someone who made my life more complete than I ever dreamed it could be - eternally yours, Rick (credit to D. Pagels).
The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Kirsten, Dr. Malpass, Dr. Tuvel, and the many nurses and staff of Kootenay Lake Hospital for their compassionate care.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider
a donation to Kootenay Lake Hospital or BC Cancer Foundation.
Thompson Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
