Carmela Lallonardo (DeMeo)
May 4th, 1928 - September 23, 2017
€Carmela passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday September 23rd at Mountain Lake Seniors Community.
Although family and friends were surprised by the suddenness of her turn of events, they are greatly comforted in knowing she a had a healthy and happy 89 years with us.
Carmela was born in St. Stefano del Sole, Italy where she grew up in a family of 6 brothers and sisters. She married her sweetheart and shortly there after they immigrated to Canada to start their life and family together.
Carmela and her husband Luigi (pre-deceased 2011) called Nelson their home, but never forgetting their roots and Italian homeland.
Together they raised 3 children, 2 daughters and 1 son.
She is finally reunited with her Husband Luigi. She is survived by daughter Roberta, son Michele, and their families, Brother Fidel, sister Tommasina.
May you rest in peace and tranquility Carmela. You are loved ever so much, passionately and deeply, missed by all those you have left behind.
A sincere and heartfelt thank you is deserved for all the staff at Mountain Lake.
Prayers will be held Thursday September 28th,2017, 7:00pm at The Cathedral of Mary Immaculate, continuing with Mass of Christian Burial Friday September 29th, 2017, 11:00 am at The Cathedral of Mary Immaculate, 813 Ward St, Nelson BC.
Entombment will follow in the Nelson Mausoleum.
As an expression of sympathy, family and friends are invited to make a donation to The Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation, 3 View St, Nelson BC, V1L 2V1.
