Carol Ann Hutchinson of Nelson, BC, peacefully passed away at home on April 9, 2025. She was 79.
Born on February 14, 1946, in Edinburgh, Scotland, she immigrated to Canada in her childhood. She was raised and spent her early adulthood in the Chilliwack area before making her home in Nelson
in 1980.
Carol was a dedicated artist and teacher for over 50 years, known for her passion for pottery, painting, skiing, gardening, traveling and just chilling on her little piece of paradise, her private beach.
Carol was kind, generous, woke up every morning with a smile on her face and a love for family, friends and everyone she met. Her warm spirit often prompted total strangers to share their life stories with her.
Carol is survived by her husband Geoffrey Carter, her two children Simon Hutchinson and Jeremy Hutchinson (Clarissa), grandchildren Ezra (Shania), Jack, and Shaelyn (Caden), great-grandchildren Rosabella and Talulah and countless wonderful friends. Carol's impact on our community will be deeply missed.
Carol's Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on June 8th, 2025, at the Prestige Lakeside Resort, Nelson BC. Please RSVP to Geoffrey Carter at badpoet59@gmail.com by May 31st.
