It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Donna on January 14th, 2021 at the age of 72 years old, in the city of Kamloops, BC.
Donna lived in Nelson under the care of Nelson CARES Society since 1982 and earned the affection of many staff, including those at Bigby Place and other community members.
She was a woman who knew what she liked and made her intentions clear to all that were around. She had a gregarious and affectionate nature and a laugh that was truly infectious. Those who knew her will remember her love for her baby dolls, as well as playing with her staffs' dogs. One of her favorite past times was singing and playing ukulele and encouraging involvement with a boisterous "Come on!" to whoever was around her.
Donna will be missed deeply and a chasm felt in Nelson's Community Living circle. Nelson CARES Society would like to give a warm thank you to Jackie Cole for being Donna's representative over the past several years, which helped her to live her best life.
A celebration of life will take place via Zoom at a date yet to be determined.
